New Garage - Boy Scout Troop 44, chartered by our church, first approached St Paul session in January 2008 about building a new garage for troop use. The scouts currently use thesmall brown garage for some storage. Everything does not fit into the garage and the troop trailers are stored outside. The garage is not structurally sound. They plan to tear down the old garage and build a new one north of the current church garage. It will look like our current garage but will be a little larger. The troop will cover the cost of the construction and organize the construction. This garage will centralize the storage of equipment, protect their equipment, provide space for drying tents after outings, and provide protection of their trailers. Call Shelley Dreibelbeis if you have questions.

One Great Hour of Sharing
This year we will again receive the One Great Hour of Sharing offering. It is one of the times of the year
that brings us together with Presbyterian Churches all over the world. Here at St. Paul, in the 50 some
years we’ve been a congregation, receiving the offering has become an important tradition. What is vital,
though, in this tradition and offering, is that this is a time when we join hands with neighbors and respond
to the needs of our brothers and sisters around the world.

St. Paul Calendar -- The St. Paul Calendar is attached. However, it only shows the appointments relevant to
our church life. Throughout the school year, our multi-purpose room is scheduled with sports team’s
practices. We are almost completely booked in the evenings and weekends through March. If you would like
to schedule the gym for an event or want to know which teams are practicing, please contact Robyn in the
office. Thanks!

St. Paul Annual Report -- On Sunday, January 30, St. Paul conducted an annual meeting immediately
following worship. The St. Paul Annual Report was distributed which highlights the events, financials, and
happenings of the church in 2010. If you missed the service and meeting and would like a copy of the report,
please pick one up on the table in the Narthex.

St. Paul Directory -- Updated St. Paul Directories are available…please pick them up in the office or contact Robyn to have one sent to your home.

Pledge Cards --For those of you unable to attend our Stewardship Sunday presentation, we were very sorry to miss you. We had a nice turnout and the Celebration Potluck Luncheon was a big hit. If at all possible, could you please help us out and complete and return the Pledge card "(Estimate of Giving for the 2011 Church Year") at your earliest convenience and return to the Financial Secretary's box or to Jean Gilbert personally? Thank you very much for your prayerful consideration and gracious gift to St. Paul. Our goal this year is to have everyone "grow by one step" on the chart entitled "An Informative Breakdown of our Congregation's Giving Patterns." Again, thank you for your prompt response and help.

KUDOS KORNER - Kudos Corner… A big thanks to Whitey Stange for keeping our computers backed up and up to date!! Also, thanks for programming all the thermostats in the church. This has saved us a tremendous amount of money in heating and cooling costs. A big thank you to Meho for fixing the hole in the gym wall. There are soooo many fix it projects at the church that Meho does, i.e. fixes toilets, rewires lights in Fellowship hall, fixed the door in the gym, repaired flooring in the two closets in the Narthex, services the lawn mowers…when you see Meho around church, thank him for all he does.

Angelfood Ministries - Since 1994, Angelfood Ministries has been providing low cost food to financially struggling families across the nation.  It is a monthly program where families may order food items, pay for them, and pick them up at a designated site. This program is open to anyone who wants to use it. .  Note that the menu includes Senior meals, 10 nutritionally balanced meals at a very reasonable price.

Just recently, Messiah Lutheran Church,  down the street, has become a pick up site.  This is a convenient pick up location for our members.  You can order online at angelfoodministries.com or stop by Messiah Lutheran Church to place your order.  Walk-in orders are taken the on Mondays and Wednesdays prior to the monthly order deadline date between 1pm and 3pm.  For more information or if you have questions, contact Robyn in the church office and she can assist you with the ordering process.

BROWN PAPER BAGS NEEDED
The DMARC food pantry is in need of paper bags to package food so please donated your extra brown paper bags with your food donations on the third Sunday of every month.

HOSPITALITY - St. Paul Pastor John Gilmore reminds us that hospitality is very important in the old testament and has this to say, "God calls us to be a welcoming arm for persons into the kingdom. One of the most loving and hospitable acts that we can offer is to share a meal with others." So, come one, come all and share in the meal of turkey, mashed potatoes, vegetables, desserts and a drink. You won't go away hungry!!

St. Paul Presbyterian is located at 6426 Merle Hay Road in Johnston. You can learn more by visiting the website at www.stpaul-johnston.com. As Pastor Gilmore says, "In sharing our Fall Harvest Dinner, we are sharing our faith!" Plan now to attend.

Epistle articles are due on the 20th of the month. Send your information to: spepistle@mchsi.com

Reach out into the Community-- Please remember, we really want to have every Sunday be an opportunity to invite others to worship with us and learn what we, at St. Paul, are all about. Pastor John's message so appropriate and well-stated. And, while we cannot meet everyone's needs, it is important we try to open our doors to share our church with others. That means we are calling on everyone in the congregation to reach out and try to bring friends, churched or unchurched, into our community of faith. For us to grow in faith, in our programming, in our lives, we believe it is important to keep our church vibrant. This will require a growth in numbers—and the best people to "market" our church are the people who sit in the pews! M&E will continue to try to facilitate growth and Pastor John will continue to reach out to the visitors, but it takes ALL of us to help in this process! —Dean N., M&E committee

Be part of the St. Paul web page
Members of St. Paul -Please send me articles about activities that will be happening or have happened at St. Paul. Photos of groups are also welcome. Close-up photos of individuals would need to have permission of the members to use them on our web site. The St. Paul web site is an excellent way to show the Internet community who we are and what we do.
