MEMBERSHIP AND EVANGELISM -- LOOKING FOR COMMITTEE MEMBERS
by Dean Nihart/Session Member
Rhonda Westercamp and Carin Birt have agreed to join our Session and head up the Membership and Evangelism Committee. We lovingly refer to this as M&E and these energetic leaders could use your help.
M&E is in charge of putting on yearly events and also trying to help promote and bring in new members to St. Paul. The events can include Friendship Sunday, the Fall Harvest Dinner and the Ice Cream Social and others as determined throughout the year. Promotions can include article writing, picture taking, and simply meeting and greeting visitors on Sundays.
We are looking to build a committee of people to help Rhonda and Carin throughout the coming year. If you can spare some time and talent, your help would be much appreciated. No matter what your particular skill set might be, we believe there is something you can do to help on this committee.
As changes in our church occur, we are hoping to keep working toward making St. Paul an even better place, not only for new members, but also for our current congregation. There is no age requirement, so anyone from 2 to 102 can join. Everyone has ideas to offer and we hope to have some enthusiastic volunteers.
Please reach out to Carin (carinbirt@gmail Cell-707-8093) or Rhonda (rhonda@charterbanker.com Cell-681-8563) with any questions or to just say YES to becoming part of their M&E team! Thank you for your prayerful consideration!
DMARC -
Des Moines Area Religious Council is looking for caring adults who can spend one hour per week during the school day mentoring children from 4th - 8th grade. Working with the Project Connect Mentoring Program, volunteers would be a friend and a homework helper to a child in a Des Moines Public School who might live in poverty and/or who do not speak English at home. Mentors of all ages are welcome. Some working adults give one lunch hour per week to serve a child. To volunteer, contact Vonnie Salem at DMARC, 277-6969, cell phone 770-9287 or email: vsalem@dmreligious.org.
