Welcome to our Newest Staff Member!
--- Nathan Green took over duties as St. Paul’s new choir director in time for Palm Sunday services, and he’s been doing a great job ever since. He has been directing the adult vocal and bell choirs, assisting with youth music and leading music during worship services. Though his contract does not cover the summer months, Nathan looks forward to starting up the choirs again in fall. Nathan grew up in Agency, Iowa. Part of a musical family, he started performing in barbershop quartets by age eight and has stayed at it ever since. He currently sings with the Des Moines’ Barbershop Chorus. Nathan majored in music at Central College and now works as an Operations Manager at Paper Systems, Inc.
--- Nathan and family live just north of Hoover High School, within the Johnston school district: Sarah Sanders grew up in Beaverdale, attended LA James cosmetology program, and now works part-time at Cooney’s Tavern. Their two sons are Samuel, age 21⁄2, and Johnathan, 5 months. (If you were in church on Easter, you’ll definitely remember Samuel joining his daddy on stage during Nathan’s duet with Tim Kramer!)“I’ve really enjoyed my time so far with St. Paul, and I look forward to a wonderful future with the music here,” notes Nathan. “This church has many talented musicians, and I suspect there are many others I haven’t met yet. We’ve got room for many more in the choir, bell choir, praise band, special music and beyond – and we’ll be doing some exciting music this fall that you won’t want to miss!”
