Mission Committee
At St Paul, Our mission is to Glorify God by Making Disciples who Connect in Community, Grow in Faith and Serve in Joy. As such, we have a strong sense of connection and giving, which is seen vividly in our Mission committee work. Throughout the year, Mission hosts, creates, and fundraises for local and international organizations, most of which are right in the Johnston area.
We have several yearly events, which are open to the community, listed below:
We have several yearly events, which are open to the community, listed below:
- Community Harvest Dinner: Organized by the Membership & Evangelization committee. A community-wide Thanksgiving-style dinner, usually a couple weeks before the holiday. We encourage everyone to buy a dinner, volunteer, or donate toward food costs. Enjoy a homecooked meal by members of St Paul with your family!
- Alternative Gift Market: Each year Mission hosts this market, where people can purchase donations on behalf of others, and give them the gift of this donation. It is open each holiday season, either online or in person at St Paul.
- Cancer Care Ministry: This ministry focuses on supporting and aiding both cancer patients and their caregivers in the Johnston area, through various outreach approaches.
- Food Pantry Garden: The garden located toward the back of the St Paul parking lot is cultivated each year by church members, volunteers, and students, in order to grow and harvest food for food banks around Johnston.
- Boy Scouts Troop 44: For many years now, St Paul has hosted Troop 44 regular meetings and special events, such as their annual Pinewood Derby.
